My head is buzzing

Today I had to go to Walsall to attend a Goal Setting Workshop. For 6 hours I was bombarded with ideas and techniques to help me plan and prioritise my life. The beauty of this workshop is that it is meant for every aspect of my life, not just for the business I am involved in, although it is because of the business that I attended the course in the first place!

A couple of things that have stuck in my mind so far was to write a daily list of my successes, as a way of drowning out negative thoughts and failures. I also learned that on average it takes 21 days to create a habit, so if I write my list for the next 21 days, it will become a natural part of my daily life!

Also that successful people read, or listen to audio books that help them learn new skills and techniques to help them grow in confidence and ability. Reading fiction is not very productive of your time. Although I personally believe that if you have been working towards your goals, there is nothing wrong in rewarding yourself with the luxury of reading a fictional book every now and then.

Finally, when you write down all your dreams, you need to try cover the 6 main categories of everyones life, as this will make you into a more fulfilled and happy person in all areas of your life. I would write more about this, but I am not too sure if what I am writing about is copywrited, and providing information here might be construed as a breach of copywrite.

Today was the first day of my holiday. Although I seem to have had jast as busy a day as if I had gone to work! As the weather was actually fine, I embarked upon sanding down and painting one of the window frames, that has been patiently waiting for my attention since last year!! I actually remembered not to take my shirt off in the sunshine, like I did last year, so only my arms got tanned a bit, instead of my back looking like a lobster fresh out the pot!

I then attempted to cook dinner for the family. Mashed potato, easy. Done it before. Frozen veg, the microwave did what it was supposed to do! It was the smoked haddock that became the challenge for me today. Now normally I would simply put the haddock into the oven and bake it and have chips with it. So instead, I dice the fillets into cubes, finely slice some onions, and place the haddock onto the onions in a pan. Added, milk, crushed pepper, and mustard, and cooked slowly for about 10-15 minutes. Removed the haddock and onions and then added flour and spring onions to the sauce. Thickened up the sauce and poured over the haddock and onions. Finally added some chopped parsley for garnish. All that effort, to make a different dish, and it wasn't all that brilliant. I need to put more Oomph into the sauce next time.

Finally as a treat I sat down and watched this film, which I have seen before, but I still like to watch every now and then.

This morning, I had 2 trainees with me learning about the work I do. Now normally, my day tends to be fairly quiet and trouble free. I always feel that maybe I have let the trainees down a bit, if something important doesn't happen.

The only thing of note that happened today was having to deal with a customer who had lost his mobile phone. Sadly the mobile phone owner does not look as though he will be reunited with his phone, as we managed to get colleagues at another station to search the train for the phone, with no success.

I then tried calling his mobile phone, but it was switched off! When that happens, it does not bode well for the owner, as it has probably been switched off by the thief who now has it! Lets hope the owner can manage to give the IMEI number to the Police and his phone provider, so that the phone will be worthless to anyone else.

Currently playing Primeval Evolved as I have been enjoying the TV series, and this adds a bit more fun to the program.
Just spent the entire morning trying to find out how to switch on the GPS facility on my Blackberry 8120 phone. So far with total lack of success. I contacted my network provider to see if it is enabled by them. They came back and told me that I have to enable the GPS facility direct from Blackberry.

I cannot find any straight forward instructions on the Blackberry site, or on the Web giving me a clue as to the step by step tasks required to enable the GPS facility on the phone.

At least I have found out that my phone has some updates that need to be downloaded, so whilst it is doing that, it is time for a spot of Brunch!

Welcome to my first ever Blog!

Ok folks, this is my first ever attempt at blogging. I may not write frequently, as I always seem to be too busy doing something, and the only real time I have to update this sort of thing would be while I am at work, only the Company I work for have severe restrictions on the web sites I can access, and it is unlikely I will be able to access this site at work!

Must dash as I now have to take my daughter to school and then get ready for work!
